SPOKANE, WA— The Spokane Shadow have a new head coach and a deeper talent pool to work with as they compete in the Evergreen Premier League in 2018. They were close to victory in their opener but then gave up two late goals on May 5 to fall 3-2 at home to Tri-Cities Alliance.Â
Spokane Shadow
FOUNDED: 1996
HOME GROUND: SFCC / POLO CLUB
COLORS: NAVY, WHITE, RED
EPLWA TITLES: 2014, 2015
HEAD COACH: JESSE RETAN
New Head Coach
The Shadow have hired Jesse Retan as their new EPLWA Head Coach. He’s very familiar with the league having played for the Shadow in previous seasons.
“We have a strong group of players coming in and we will be looking to compete and leave our stamp on the league,” Retan says. “The EPLWA is a good league that I competed in as a player and I know we need to be sharp to compete. I will look to bring my energy and passion for the club and for the game each and every day.”
Deeper Player Pool
The Shadow believe they have a deeper player pool in 2018 to fill the competitive needs of the teams they field. The arrival of college players throughout May will build their roster and there will be shuffling between sides but the talent is expected to gel into a competitive side for Evergreen Premier League play.

Possession Oriented #HometownSoccer
The Shadow system is possession oriented soccer from the Spokane Sounders of the RCL to the adult teams. The club is focused on a coherent style of play in all leagues it competes in. For the Shadow having a team compete in the EPLWA gives them a chance to see more players and expand the opportunities for players in the greater Spokane area to be a part of #HometownSoccer.
