PUYALLUP, WA— Washington Premier SSFC Shock didn’t play a league match in the opening weekend of the EPLWA season but they still took the pitch. The club played a current squad versus alumni match that entertained all involved and ended with a 2-1 win for the current roster.

In other Shock news, the club is wishing good luck to forward Thiago Novis who will be heading to Colombia on a series of club trials.
Thiago played the 2016 season for Bellingham United before returning to Montana State Bilings. He scored 3 goals for the Hammers.
Shock Head Coach Adam Becker says a couple of college teammates convinced Thiago to join the Shock this season. “Through out the school year Rhys Lambert and JJ Schmeck worked on Thiago to get hime to come play for WPSSFC. Although his time with us came to an end a lot earlier than anticipated he did leave his mark. Tallying 6 goals and 3 assists in 5 pre-season games. The alumni game was potentially his last game for the summer with WPSSFC.”

Novis is taking up the challenge of sticking with a club in South America. “Thiago is on his way to Colombia for trials with first division teams Millionários, Cali, Envigado and Tigres,” Becker reveals.
“This is an opportunity he couldn’t pass up and one our organization wouldn’t get in the way of. We’d like to wish him the best of luck and hope he can secure a contract.”
Washington Premier South Sound opens their Evergreen Premier League season Sunday May 7 at 4 PM against Seattle Stars FC at the Washington Premier Fields in Puyallup.
