On Saturday July 16 there were two very different soccer matches in the Evergreen Premier League. In the first one 11 goals were scored as Yakima United outlasted the 10-man Olympic Force 6-5 at Gordon Field in Bremerton.
In the night match the Spokane Shadow kept their dreams of a third straight EPLWA title alive with a 1-0 win over the Seattle Stars at French Field in Kent. Fernando Alvarez scored his 5th goal of the season in the 13th minute and the Shadow defense held strong in front of goalkeeper Tony Watters, who notched his 3rd complete match shut out of the season.
It was the 18th straight away match without a loss for the Shadow, who went 6-0-1 away in both 2014 and 2015. This match raised their 2016 away mark to 3-0-1.
