Vancouver Victory FC have scored consecutive shutouts in Evergreen Premier League play with impressive 3-0 (at Spokane) and 2-0 (Bellingham) victories. The man in goal for both contests was German goalkeeper Arne Niermann (LinkedIN bio.)

Niermann graduates from Concordia University (Portland) this spring. While that big moment approaches he’s busy with Vancouver Victory FC and his soccer life as well.
“Arne has been an outstanding goalie for us…and he is a great teammate,” Club GM Barrett Goddard said last year when Niermann was awarded EPLWA Defender of the Week honors. “He is well-liked by the guys and the coaches. He works incredibly hard and is willing to do what’s best for the team.”
Niermann is a native of Lippstadt, Germany, where he grew up playing soccer and winning trophies with local sides. He also sings, as the video below shows! Niermann was back in Lippstadt in 2012 and took the stage to sing “Blue Moon.” Maybe he knew in advance that he’d be representing the Columbia Blue of the Victory one day.
