TUKWILA, WA– Yakima United FC fell behind Seattle Stars FC early in the match but eventually scored twice to get a point in Tukwila in a 2-2 standoff. It was just the second tie in league history.


Leading the Yakima comeback was Hector Valdovinos, who scored both Hoppers goals to raise his season total to five.
The Stars scored in the third minute and again in the 29th to take a 2-0 lead in the first half. These were the first two home goals for Seattle on the season. Dario Meza got the early one and then Welton Melo gave the Stars a bigger advantage. The winless Stars looked to be in good position to get their first victory, but Valdovinos gave the Hoppers a lifeline with a goal just before the half. It was 2-1 in the 42nd minute.
Yakima was in full attack-mode in the second half and the Stars were scrambling to hang on. Valdovinos got the Hoppers level in the 72nd. From their both sides had chances for a winner but neither could get it. The match was watched by 152 fans.
It’s Seattle’s first standings point in the EPLWA as they move to 0-3-1. YUFC is at seven points and a 2-2-1 record after five matches.
YUFC means goals. The Hoppers have scored 14 so far, while surrendering 13.
